2017 Prudential Relationship Index reveals continued high levels of fulfilment in personal relationships across Asia

  • However, more than half of Asians worry about their families' financial security;
  • While time spent on digital devices is a major for arguments between couples, the majority of Asians believe tech advancement has improved financial planning
NewsPatrolling.com / glamourtreat.com - To gain a deeper understanding of personal relationships in the region, Prudential Corporation Asia has launched the Prudential Relationship Index (PRI) for 2017, a year after the inaugural report last year, which reveals core insights including the key attributes of healthy relationships and how they could be disrupted by factors such as money and technology.

The PRI is a study which uncovers the dynamics between partners, children, friends and relatives, and explores the strengths and weaknesses of the primary relationships in our lives. Nine markets were part of the region-wide study this year, including Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
The overall average PRI score for 2017 is 71/100, a one-point increase from 2016. This indicates that relationships in Asia meet a significant 71% of people's needs and expectations. People in Cambodia are the most satisfied with their personal relationships, with a PRI score of 86/100, followed by Vietnam and the Philippines in joint second (79/100).

Mr. Anthony Shaw, Chief Customer and Marketing Officer, Insurance, at Prudential Corporation Asia said, "The second edition of the Prudential Relationship Index offers new insights into relationships in Asia. Prudential recognises that healthy relationships influence an individual's happiness and wellbeing. For over 90 years, Prudential has helped our customers protect their valued relationships with products that cater to their needs at different life stages."

On the PRI 2017 he said, "The level of relationship satisfaction remains at a high level this year across Asia. Money continues to be the leading source of tension for couples in Asia and the findings reveal that greater transparency regarding financial affairs benefits relationships. Whilst the advancement of technology has made financial planning easier, attentiveness to their partner is the major source of arguments for one-third of couples in the region."

What is the key to relationship success in Asia?
In Asia, people most desire a partner who is "easy to get along with", by which they mean someone who allows them to relax and is fun to be around. Given the pressures of daily life, they are likely to seek a companion who makes them laugh and enjoy doing things together.
Loyalty and honesty are also highly desired traits across all the markets surveyed. The ideal partner would be a person who respects their individuality and is honest with them.

What major concerns do people in Asia face?
According to the PRI, most people in Asia bear the responsibility of financially supporting their loved ones. More than half of adults surveyed (53%) say they currently cover their parents' daily expenses. However, a significantly smaller proportion of them do not expect to receive the same financial support in return. Only a third of Asians (32%) expect their children to support them financially in their old age.

The majority of Asians plan to rely on their own personal savings and assets in their senior years (83%). In fact, saving for future retirement is the highest-ranked goal (50%) in the region, followed closely by travelling with family (47%).

 How does money impact relationships?
While drinking and smoking is a big cause for concern for couples in certain markets, findings show that more than a third of couples in Asia argue about money (37%) -- the most common cause for argument in the region.

However, the PRI 2017 reveals that couples who pool all their financial resources together have a better relationship (with a PRI score of 74/100) than those who keep their finances separate (PRI score of 58/100).

Additionally, the majority of couples in Asia (56%) say that working with a financial agent to plan their finances helps improve relationships. People in emerging markets like Cambodia (70%) and Thailand (69%) are more likely to agree with the benefits of professional financial help than those in developed markets like Hong Kong (28%).

How does technology affect people's lives?
The PRI 2017 also explores the effects of technology on people's lives. More than three-quarters of people in the region (79%) say technology growth has made financial planning easier and better. In Cambodia, almost all the people surveyed (90%) agree that their financial planning has improved as a result of advancement in technology.
Despite its positive impact on quality of life, people are conscious of the effects of technology on relationships. Findings show that time spent on digital devices is the fourth-leading cause for argument between couples in Asia (29%), most prominently affecting relationships in the Philippines (37%) and Thailand (36%).

Overall, the majority of people in the region are optimistic about the state of their relationships and personal finances, with expectations for improvement in their love life (56%) and personal finances (67%) over the next few years.

Anthony concluded, "In line with our business credo of 'Always Listening, Always Understanding', the PRI provides another tool for Prudential to stay in touch with the needs of our customers and ensure we are able to help them protect their most valued relationships."

Yoga can reduce risky sex in youth: University of Cincinnati study indicates

NewsPatrolling.com (media partnered with Confirmtkt.com ): A University of Cincinnati (UC) long-term study shows a marked reduction in risky sex and substance abuse in troubled 18- to 24-year-olds after several months of participating in mindful yoga and positive coping strategies, according to a report published in UC Magazine.

“We found that many of these youths who had endured stressful life events and otherwise would have fallen into the risky behavior trap could actually have positive outcomes later in life because they chose to join in prosocial physical activities, yoga or mindfulness meditation,” says Dr. Jacinda K. Dariotis, UC public health researcher and Director of School of Education, in this Magazine report.

According to Dariotis in this report, testosterone can be influential in dominance and aggressive behaviors, but if directed through prosocial behaviors like sports, yoga or healthy competition it can have very positive outcomes.

Dariotis found youths who were unable to develop positive coping strategies were much more likely to turn to greater risk-taking behaviors that included unprotected sex or sex for money, substance abuse, violence and crime. Participating in weekly mindful yoga intervention programs as part of the current study taught the youths how to take control of their breathing and their emotions and helped them develop healthier long-term coping skills, Magazine report points out.

“Mindfulness-based yoga programs designed to improve the ability to cope are needed at earlier ages in schools to help vulnerable youths channel their skills more effectively,” Magazine report adds quoting Dariotis.

Meanwhile, distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada today, called this study looking into effect of yoga on risky behaviors of troubled youth “a step in the positive direction”. Zed urged all major world universities to explore various benefits yoga offered.

Yoga, referred as “a living fossil”, was a mental and physical discipline, for everybody to share and benefit from, whose traces went back to around 2,000 BCE to Indus Valley civilization, Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, noted.

Rajan Zed further said that yoga, although introduced and nourished by Hinduism, was a world heritage and liberation powerhouse to be utilized by all. According to Patanjali who codified it in Yoga Sutra, yoga was a methodical effort to attain perfection, through the control of the different elements of human nature, physical and psychical.

According to US National Institutes of Health, yoga may help one to feel more relaxed, be more flexible, improve posture, breathe deeply, and get rid of stress. According to a “2016 Yoga in America Study”, about 37 million Americans (which included many celebrities) now practice yoga; and yoga is strongly correlated with having a positive self image.  Yoga was the repository of something basic in the human soul and psyche, Zed added.

UC, founded in 1819 and which calls itself a “premier academic institution and a public research powerhouse”, serves over 44,000 students. Thomas D. Cassady and Neville G. Pinto are Trustees Chair and President respectively.

Health is a fundamental human right

NewsPatrolling.com : “The enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being without distinction of race, religion, political belief, economic or social condition”.
Almost 70 years after these words were adopted in the Constitution of the World Health Organization, they are more powerful and relevant than ever.
Since day one, the right to health has been central to WHO’s identity and mandate. It is at the heart of my top priority: universal health coverage.
The right to health for all people means that everyone should have access to the health services they need, when and where they need them, without suffering financial hardship.
No one should get sick and die just because they are poor, or because they cannot access the health services they need.
Good health is also clearly determined by other basic human rights including access to safe drinking water and sanitation, nutritious foods, adequate housing, education and safe working conditions.
The right to health also means that everyone should be entitled to control their own health and body, including having access to sexual and reproductive information and services, free from violence and discrimination.
Everyone has the right to privacy and to be treated with respect and dignity. Nobody should be subjected to medical experimentation, forced medical examination, or given treatment without informed consent.
That’s why WHO promotes the idea of people-centred care; it is the embodiment of human rights in the practice of care.
When people are marginalized or face stigma or discrimination, their physical and mental health suffers. Discrimination in health care is unacceptable and is a major barrier to development.
But when people are given the opportunity to be active participants in their own care, instead of passive recipients, their human rights respected, the outcomes are better and health systems become more efficient.
We have a long way to go until everyone – no matter who they are, where they live, or how much money they have – has access to these basic human rights.
The central principle of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is to ensure that no one is left behind.
I call on all countries to respect and protect human rights in health – in their laws, their health policies and programmes. We must all work together to combat inequalities and discriminatory practices so that everyone can enjoy the benefits of good health, no matter their age, sex, race, religion, health status, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or migration status.

Reviewing the Data Recovery Software for Windows

NewsPatrolling.com :We all have been there. We all experienced the dread when we have accidentally deleted an important file for good. Well, you can recover the file you have deleted as there are plenty of tools to get it done. There is no dearth of free data recovery software online. However, it is about finding that special software which has everything you need; something which goes beyond your expectation.
Well, it is time for us to get familiar with the recycle bin recovery software for Windows, EaseUs Data Recovery Wizard. This is special software in many ways. First and foremost, it is very good software. There can be plenty of reasons for you to lose the data. Whatever be the reason, this software can recover your files with lot of efficiency. We are going to learn how we can use this software to our advantage.
How to use this software?
You need to download the free version of the software first. Then you should install it on your computer. Once you have done the installation, you will be able to access the software by clicking on the desktop shortcut. Click on it to launch the application.
Easeus Data Recovery
When you launch the software, you will be given 3 choices to execute the recovery process. Here in this article, we are going see how we can recover the file using the option named Deleted File Recovery.
If you want to make it easier for you, then we recommend file type search. This will be helpful in getting accurate and fast results. However, there is nothing to worry if you are not sure about the file type. You just do the regular search.
In the next step, you will be asked to select the partition where you want to conduct the search. Once you have made your selection, click the next button.
You have selected the drive. It is now time for the application to get on with the scanning process. We have to tell you one important thing – this software is the fastest by far when it comes to the search. We have come across so many products and we are mighty impressed with the speed provided by this one.
Finally! You have the list of files you have searched for! Against each file name, you will find lot of attributes like file type, size, file name, creation time, time of modification etc. Or in other words, it is super easy to find the file. Once you have spotted the file, then select the file and click on the next button.
In the next step, you will be required to specify the location where you want to restore the file. There is one thing you need to remember here. We would strongly recommend recovering the file in a different drive in order to make sure of a successful recovery.
And you are done! The software has successfully recovered the file to the specified location!
Features of the software
May be it is time for us to get familiar with the features of the software next. Well, as we have already mentioned, it comes with lot of cool features. We have been really impressed by those features.
  • File repair service: This is something we totally dig. In case the recovered files have been damaged, this software will try to repair it. That is cool, right?
  • Recovery is possible from partitions like EXT3 and EXT2: Even though this software is specially designed for Windows to primarily handle NTFS and FAT, it has the ability to recover files from Linux/UNIX partitions like EXT3 and EXT 2 as well.
  • Recovers file tree structure: Yes, this is an important feature. The software not only recovers the original file name, but also unearths the file tree structure. It means, you will be able to see the previous storage path of the recovered file.
  • Tech support for free of cost:You might assume that they offer tech support only to premium users. That is not true. They offer tech support to free users as well. And they are eager to help you with any problem you have encountered while using the software.
Conclusion
Well, in my opinion, this is one of the best recovery software available in the business today. Free version has its limitations, but it is great nonetheless.
