THE PRINCESS PEA AND LOVEBIRDS ART PERFORMANCE MADE A STRONG FASHION STATEMENT AT 6DEGREE STUDIO DURING LAKMÉ FASHION WEEK SUMMER/RESORT 2018

NewsPatrolling.com / Newzopedia.com : It was a thought-provoking art performance that sent out not only a message of what to expect on the fashion front but also ask a therapeutic question on one’s self.

The Princess Pea brand and Delhi’s Lovebirds fashion label came together in perfect unison for the presentation that was a great mix of movements and speech at 6Degee Studio during Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2018. The theme of the project was “Born of Fire” a continuous journey to endeavour towards artistic paths.

Princess Pea as a visual artist has performed with people through photographs and worked for several years on self-questioning and the line “What about me if I only think of You?” was the basis of the message that the presentation projected. Collaborating with Lovebirds defined notions of beauty, appearances and genders in contemporary lifestyles. A video started the session with a monologue and then went into a chanting of the phrase “What about me if I only think of you?” for fashion presentation by Lovebirds and Princess Pea, who performed a balletic sequence.

THE LOVEBIRDS PRE-FALL 2018 RELAXED FASHION LINE

The Lovebirds brand is known for its free-flowing collections and the collaboration with Princess Pea was ideal as the clothing is a mix of functional as well as efficient clothing, which offers a marked sense of androgynous and quirky but feminine comfort wear.  The presentation was unconventional as models moved slowly throughout the audience, which was seated on scattered chairs all over the venue.

The focus was on shapes, forms and textures. The geometric inspirations were constant with circles, lines and rectangles as the focal point. The Pre-Fall 2018 line had a profusion of colours that moved from white, red and smoky black to yellow and mouse grey. The fabrics selected were poplin, organza and silk with large polka dots in white, black and red as the main attraction.

Quilting and embossed effects worked really well for the oversized, baggy, silhouettes that were turned into feminine as well as slightly masculine looks for the jackets pants and dresses.

The main accessory was red socks that were the ideal element to complete the look.

The finale was a parade of the models waving the Princess Pea and the “Born of Fire” title flags.
