Chennai nutritionist, Divya Sathyaraj, who is also the daughter of Kollywood actor Sathyaraj, was recently threatened by a few manufacturers from the US.
She refused to prescribe the multivitamin being marketed by them, after she discovered that it contained harmful ingredients.
In their products , Divya found that the salts used could cause possibly damage liver, blur vision among other things.
The representatives of the companies threatened her with their ‘political approach.’
Divya has written to the Prime Minister seeking immediate action against the pharmaceutical companies threatening her.
In her letter to the Prime Minister, Divya asks who will protect the people from such unapproved medicines.
She also asked the prime minister as to who will protect the middle class man from malpractices that doctors indulge in on the former’s expense
