Global worries resulted into a liquidation of recent positions: Angel Broking

Newspatrolling.com : “Today, our benchmarks opened marginally higher and then consolidated within a small range throughout the first half. However, we witnessed a complete nosedive in the late afternoon after some fresh worries arising on the global trade war. Eventually, a sustained selling resulted into a sharp cut of more than a percent from its previous close.

At one point in the morning, the Nifty was trading well above the higher boundary (10250) of ‘Falling Channel’. Obviously, the daily close was essential to fulfill requirements; but, looking at the intraday momentum, a possibility of this relief rally getting extended was quite high. But, as always market surprises, once again some negative developments on the global front spooked traders to liquidate their recent positions. For the coming session, the immediate hurdle is placed in the zone of 10187 – 10230; whereas, on the downside, last Wednesday’s low of 10096would be seen as a crucial support. Any sustainable move below this would reinforce selling pressure to test 10049 – 10000 levels.

However, if we take a close look of top 6 – 7 heavyweight constituents, it does not indicate immediate correction from current levels. Hence, in case, if this correction extends, this would probably once again be a weak attempt of fall. Considering all these uncertainties, traders are advised to stay light and ideally should continue to follow stock specific approach.”

Hard Rock” apologizes & removes “Hindu Pizza” after Hindu protest

NewsPatrolling.com (Media partnered with newzopedia.com , niryas.com , webeesocial.com, ayushmaanbhavah.com):Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana (Dominican Republic), which  had a “Hindu Pizza” on its menu containing “chicken tikka masala with yogurt, cilantro and mint”, has removed the pizza and apologized to the protesting Hindus.

Anmarí Pérez, Customer Care Manager of Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, in an email to distinguished Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, who spearheaded the protest, wrote: “We sincerely apologize and addressed the issue immediately.” “Hindu Pizza” has now reportedly been removed from both restaurant and online menus and all other materials.

Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in Nevada today, thanked Orlando (Florida) headquartered Hard Rock International ((HRI), whose tagline is “Love All, Serve All”, for understanding the concerns of Hindu community which thought it was highly insensitive.

Rajan Zed, who is President of Universal Society of Hinduism, had termed it as a trivialization of the oldest and third largest religion of the world with about 1.1 billion adherents and a rich philosophical thought.

Zed had pointed out that Hindus were mostly vegetarian and selling a meat topped pizza in their name was highly inappropriate. No faith, larger or smaller, should be taken frivolously and mishandled for mercantile greed, Zed added.

Rajan Zed suggests that HRI and other companies should send their senior executives for training in religious and cultural sensitivity so that they have an understanding of the feelings of customers and communities when introducing new products or launching advertising campaigns.

“Hindu Pizza” was available at the Pizzeto restaurant (in HRI’s largest property located in Punta Cana) which opens daily from 12pm to next day 7am and has a “Dress Code”.

HRI, whose history goes back to 1971; owns-operates restaurants, hotels, live performance venues and casinos globally and sells collectible fashion and music-related merchandise. It claims: “no one does hospitality like us” and it recently launched “Rock Om”; “an in-room yoga experience, energizing the body and soul through the power of music.” It delivers “Rock Om yoga kit” to each hotel room free of charge. Select HRI hotels also reportedly offer live, on-site yoga classes.

Reactions from SUFI and Global Ocean Group on E-Way Bill

Quote from Mr. Nikunj Turakhia, President of Steel Users Federation of India (SUFI)

“SUFI welcomes implementation of e way bill for inter-state transactions from 1st April 2018. After failing to implement inter-state e way bill on 1st feb 2018 due to software glitches, this time government has made sure that the server does not crash and runs seamlessly.

The introduction of e way bill is expected to plug any leakages in GST revenue and will further strengthen compliance as well as bring more of unorganized players to organised .However multi destination and multi state transactions still remain cumbersome and needs to be simplified further. We are sure as we move forward GST regime will become  more simpler and in the words of honorable Prime Minister will be truly GOOD and SIMPLE TAX. Let us hope for the best.”

Quote from Mr. Brijesh Lohia, Managing Director of Global Ocean Group

“With the relaunch of inter-state e-way bill from April 1, we hope that this time the process is smooth and quick. The February 1 launch turned out to be a fiasco as the system which was expected to handle a daily load of 6 lakh inter-state e-way bills per day crashed within the first hour. This time the government has assured that now the GSTN portal can handle 75 lakh inter-state bills a day. While we welcome this move but we want to see how disruptive this proves to be for the logistics companies.

Logistics industry has always been heavily dependent on the unorganised sector, and the e-way Bill is expected to transition this to organised sector.  The transition might take time as the final form of the e-way bill is yet to take shape. The bill is also expected to improve logistics efficiency but many fear that in fact it will make the whole process cumbersome and costly.

However, the real test lies in the proper implementation of the Bill, otherwise it will create more issues for us.

Philips Research-led big data consortium receives EU funding to improve healthcare outcomes

NewsPatrolling.com a global leader in health technology, together with its consortium partners, today announced that it has received funding from the EU’s Horizon 2020 program to pilot big data solutions to achieve better patient outcomes in healthcare at a lower cost. The three-year program is the largest EU-funded initiative to transform the region’s healthcare sector through the use of big data. The ‘BigMedilytics’ [2] program aims to improve patient outcomes and increase productivity in the health sector by applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to complex datasets across the data value chain. This includes data from patients, healthcare providers, health insurers and medical technology providers.

"From patients capturing their own health data with wearable devices to ubiquitous monitoring across the hospital from the emergency room to the general ward, a huge amount of information about people’s health is being created," said Henk van Houten, Chief Technology Officer and Head of Research at Philips. "By applying AI to that data and combining that with clinical knowledge we are able to develop meaningful insights and workflow improvements that can improve patient care whilst reducing the burden of cost to health systems."

"This program is an opportunity to demonstrate how a value-based approach to Europe’s healthcare sector can help it transform in order to meet the changing needs of its citizens,” explained Olof Akre, Professor, Head of Prostate Cancer Patient Flow at Karolinska University Hospital in Sweden. "Big data technologies will have a big impact in health. By focusing this program on pilot implementations we will make these benefits concrete whilst creating the networks and know-how that will strengthen Europe’s position in applying big data in the health sector.”

By bringing together all the key players from across health data value chains, the program seeks to break down the barriers between traditional healthcare silos and combine data sources to unlock new insights and enable collaborative innovation. It will also ensure the security and privacy of personal data is protected and managed within national and EU regulatory frameworks.

With funding shared across 35 partners in 12 countries, the collaboration will combine insights from more than 11 million patients. It will be divided into three areas: Population Health and Chronic Disease Management, Oncology, and the Industrialization of Healthcare. With the majority of health budgets currently spent on treatment, the program will also implement pilots across the care continuum, from prevention to diagnosis, and treatment to home care. Partners in the program include healthcare providers, technology companies, insurers, pharma, SMEs, research institutes and universities.
